How will I get paid?
By providing your payment information when you apply,
you permit funds owing from your merchant account to
be automatically deposited, be electric funds transfer,
into the bank account that you specify
How will I keep track of my transactions?
Merchants can keep track of all their transactions
via their own personalised online Merchant Management
System. This gives Web-Merchant clients complete control
of their accounts. Also, you are automatically e-mailed
with details every time a customer makes a purchase.
Will I be able to process refunds, if necessary?
Yes, refunds (and partial refunds) are allowed through
your secure Merchant Administration Interface (MAI).
In the event of a refund being necessary, a transaction
may be reversed by the Merchant and the customer's account
credited electronically. This facility also allows delayed
authorisations also known as deferred payments
as well as listing full details of every transaction.
What is a chargeback?
A chargeback is the reversal of a transaction by the
cardholders card issuer. Chargebacks are raised when
we receive notification from our bank that the cardholder's
card issuer has received a 'notice of dispute' from
the cardholder. In certain circumstances we are able
to ask you for information that we can offer in defense
of this. In other circumstances (for example fraud)
a chargeback is made immediately. For information on
ways to prevent chargbacks, please click

My business is incorporated in a different country to
where my bank account is
Due to the money laundering act, remitting funds across
international borders can sometimes be a bit tricky
i.e. they will only remit funds to accounts in the same
country as the business is based. However if the account
is in exactly the same name as the company’s this
should be ok.
What sort of bank account do I need?
For all our merchant accounts you need to have a business
bank account set-up. Sole traders that use their personal
/ current accounts must provide a business account.
Will I need to arrange secure server facilities for
my web site?
No, you may host your web site on whatever server you
wish because the payment page which links your web site
to the credit card networks is already held on a secure
server and appears on your site at the appropriate time,
complete with padlock symbol and other security indicators.
Can I use any ISP to host my Web-Merchant enabled site?
Yes see above.
How do we feed the information from our shopping system
to the payment page?
A variety of methods could be used, each of which is
described in our integration guides and depends on the
shopping cart you wish to use. See shopping
cart integration's.
What technical support will be available?
Integration documentation and technical support are
both provided by telephone and E-mail.
What level of encryption do you have on the secure server?
Thawte 2048 bit encryption systems are used. At the
browser 128 Bit SSL is used
Can
I use a Virtual Terminal without a website?

Merchant Account for your 'traditional' business, so
you can start taking credit card payments directly from
customers or by phone, fax, mail-order etc. For more
information please visit
here
What
appears on a customers credit card statement?
As with all our merchant accounts your trading name
appears on the card statement. Please be advised that
if you are a sole trader it will be your personal name
trading as i.e. W Merchant t/a ABC Industries.

You can now display credit and
debit card logos on your web site. This is a welcome

What
requirements must my website comply with?
If you are selling online you must comply with certain
website requirements. Once the website is compliant
along with all the remaining documents the application
will be passed to the bank for approval. For more information
on what requirements are needed please
The above requirements do not apply to MOTO (virtual
terminal) only merchants (unless a website is used in
conjunction).
What cards will I be able to accept?
You will be set up with the following cards automatically:
Visa, Mastercard, Visa Delta (EU only), Electron (UK
only) Maestro (EU only), Solo (UK only), Laser (Ireland
only), JCB. You can also accept the following cards,
however you must apply direct to the Card Scheme: American
Express, Diners Club
Credit/Debit card logos need to be as prominant as
possible throughout the website. For the rules regarding
this and for the logos available, please

My domain name is not registered in our company name.
Is this a problem?
Your web address (domain name) must be registered in
your company name. The reason for this is that if a
shopper searches your domain name, they can see who
exactly owns the website they have spent money with.
Basically everything needs to tally up for shopper confidence.
This also helps stop fraudsters opening and closing
businesses every couple of days.
What application documents and ID do you need
from me once I apply?
Once you apply you will receive an email with a list
of supporting documents to return. Once all forms and
supporting documents have been received, your application
will be assessed, then you will be contacted with a
decision.
For information on the supporting documents and how
to complete them, please
How do I check my account to see who has bought
from me, make refunds etc?
The Merchant Administration Interface (MAI) is an online,
menu-driven management and reporting tool you can use
to administer your account(s) and payments and to customise
your installation options and payment pages. It is one
of a number of tools we provide to help you carry out
a range of tasks. A comprehensive user guide is available
after you apply
