Types of information we collect
There are two types of information gathered on our
web sites;
Quantitative data, which is gathered through general
Web logs, contains only aggregate information on what
pages visitors access.
Individual data is collected via Web forms, including
our Feedback Form, Application Forms and other similar
forms.
Uses of the information collected
Personal information submitted via our Web based request
forms is collected for the purpose of fulfilling information
requests only.
From time to time we may contact you via email with
offers and promotions that we think may be of interest.
Users may request not to receive marketing emailings
at any time by contacting Web-Merchant at support@web-merchant.co.uk.
We do not disclose your information to anyone outside
Web Merchant except:
- when setting up a merchant
facility
- where we have your permission;
or
- where we are required or permitted
to do so by law; or
- to other companies who provide
a service to us or/for you
- where we may transfer rights
and obligations under this agreement
We may use your business name and/or company logo on
our corporate website purely for marketing purposes.
We will not disclose any other information about you
or your business. If you do not want us to use your
business name please inform us via email.
Company (never financial) information collected through
the merchant account process, once live, may be given
to selected third parties. This information is given
on a strictly confidential basis and for the sole purpose
of providing merchants with competitive price structures.
Credit card and financial information storage
Data storage on our systems, and the communication
between us, our partners and the worldwide banking networks,
is regularly audited by the banking authorities to ensure
a secure transaction environment. We also ensure that
we stay up-to-date with the latest versions of any third-party
code we use, and continually review our own proprietary
code.
Any application form is also encrypted to the maximum
strength supported by the merchants browser using 128
Bit SSL.
Once an application is either rejected, been inactive
for more than 6 months or we have been asked to cancel
it, we destroy or delete any and all information.
IP address
We collect "non-personal" information from
you, such as your browser type, the URL of the previous
web site you visited, your ISP, operating system, and
your IP address. "Non-personal" information
cannot be easily used to personally identify you. We
may use your IP address to help diagnose problems with
our server and to administer our website. Your IP address
also may be used to recognise customer traffic patterns
and site usage. This information aids us in merchandising
and in developing the design and layout of the site.
Cookies
Web-Merchant occasionally uses cookies only for customers
who have specifically signed up for our services. The
cookies are used solely for the purpose of identifying
that customer and to provide secure access to their
service-specific data.

is private and protected by law. If you are not an addressee,
any disclosure, copying, distribution or use is strictly
prohibited and you are requested to advise us immediately

your own virus checking procedures.
Complaints & Disputes
In the event of a dispute between the parties concerning
an agreement each of the parties shall in the first
instance, bring the dispute at the earliest opportunity
to the attention of a Director or similar officer.
Disclaimer
In order to increase a merchant's chance of obtaining
a merchant facility with one of our sponsor banks due
to an applicants status and/or business model and following
a full risk assessment of an application, we may need
to increase certain elements: mainly the settlement
period and the rolling reserve (other terms may be effected
depending on the risk sector you operate in and your
company’s credit rating). Indeed a longer settlement
period and a larger rolling reserve are more likely
to reassure our processing bank that we have taken sufficient
steps to mitigate the risk exposure on an account.
As you can imagine we are unable to tell who will have
their terms increased until an application has been
put in and is being processed. Please be reassured that
you are under no obligation to continue with the application
if the new terms offered no longer meet your requirements.
If this is the case than simply reply to the relevant
email and your application will be terminated
Rejection of an application or other type
of business
Web Merchant Services has the right to refuse the business
of any potential or current customers for moral, ethical
or any other reason(s). Even if the information they
have supplied is true and complete. We retain this right
if we feel that the customer and/or the information
they have supplied is not what it appears. All rejections
are sent via email once an assessment has been completed.
